Delivery Services

Automatic Delivery FAQs

What is Automatic Delivery and how does it work?

Automatic delivery is a service we provide to ensure you do not run out of heating oil when you need it most. As an automatic delivery customer, we monitor your usage so you don’t have to.

Unlike most companies that use an average or estimate of your usage, we install a smart gauge in your tank that tells us exactly how much fuel you have at all times. There is no room for guesswork when it comes to your home comfort. The smart gauges accurately tell us when to deliver so no matter what changes in your home, we will be on top of the changes to your heating oil usage.

The smart gauges are also part of our “Stay Warm, Make an Impact” environmental commitment. Our system now learns and predicts your fuel usage 12 months in advance. The smart gauge connects to the computers in our office and in our trucks so that your fuel can be delivered at the most efficient time, based your specific fuel needs. The cutting edge software will slot your delivery in our route to burn less fuel and thereby further reduce our carbon footprint all while making sure you never run out of fuel.

What is the difference between “Automatic Delivery” and “Will Call?”

“Will Call” or “On Demand” are terms used to describe a homeowner that orders when they decide they need a delivery. It is not based on smart gauge technology, but rather a manual gauge reading by the homeowner. The main difference is that with Automatic Delivery Pricerite Oil will monitor your usage, with Will Call, you monitor your usage. Most people have the best intentions, but you either need to check your gauge very often, or you need to have nearly perfect timing.

Is there a benefit to Automatic Delivery?

The biggest advantage to Automatic Delivery is that you can be assured that you will not run out of heating oil when you need it the most. If you are a Will Call customer, and you run out of heating oil, your furnace will shut down. Once you receive a fuel delivery, you will also have to pay someone to restart your furnace (or do it yourself). With that in mind, Automatic Delivery will not only save you a headache, but it will potentially save you money.

Does Automatic Delivery Cost More?

NO! There are no additional fees for our Automatic Delivery service. You will pay the same daily price per gallon if you are on Automatic Delivery that you would pay if you called for a delivery that same day. If you would like to save an additional $.05 per gallon and have the advantages of Automatic Delivery, please take a look at our Triple Save Budget Program.

How often will I get a bill if I am on Automatic Delivery?

When our calculations determine that your tank is at about 25%, our computer will schedule a delivery for your home. Once the delivery is made, your account will be charged for the fuel delivered. We do have budget plans available if you would like to spread the payments out over a period of time or into equal monthly amounts. Our Triple Save Budget plan will take the stress out of the large winter bills around the holidays and save you $.05 per gallon on every delivery.

How do I get started with Automatic Delivery?
